Analysis techniques
What your material is actually doing
Thermal analysis, metallography and diffraction, run in our own laboratory to ISO methods. We do not just return a number: we tell you what it means for your process and what to change.

Four we run ourselves, one we run with our university partners. Each answers a different question, and most problems need two of them together.
Differential Scanning Calorimetry · DSC
Answers the question that costs the most money in production: has it cured completely? We measure the heat the sample absorbs or releases on heating, and from it the residual enthalpy, the thermal transitions and the cure kinetics — on the real material, not on the supplier’s data sheet.
Thermogravimetry · TGA
Tells you what is inside a material and how far it holds. We weigh the sample while heating it in a controlled atmosphere: every mass loss reveals a component, an additive or the onset of degradation.
Dynamic Mechanical Analysis · DMA
Measures how the material responds to an oscillating load across temperature and frequency. This is the technique that tells you the temperature a part can really be used at, rather than the one on the catalogue.
Metallography
Looking inside the material. We prepare the specimen — cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing and etching — and examine the microstructure under the microscope, where the thermal history of the part and the cause of many service failures are written.
X-Ray Diffraction · XRD
For crystalline structure: phase identification, atomic-level structure, and detection of stresses and distortions. We run this technique together with our university partners when the case calls for it.
Failure analysis
When something comes apart, no single technique answers it. We combine them: microstructure, thermal history and mechanical behaviour on the failed part and on a conforming one, to reach a root cause rather than a guess.
What each one answers, and to which standard
| Question | Technique | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Has it cured completely? | DSC · residual enthalpy | ISO 11357-5 |
| Up to what temperature can I use it? | DSC and DMA · glass transition | ISO 11357-2 · ISO 6721-11 |
| What is it made of? | TGA · filler content and volatiles | ISO 11358-1 |
| Has my supplier changed the formulation? | TGA and DSC · incoming batch control | ISO 11358-1 · ISO 11357 |
| How stiff is it under load, hot? | DMA · storage and loss modulus | ISO 6721-1 |
| Was the heat treatment done properly? | Metallography · microstructure and grain size | — |
| Why did this part fail? | Metallography and thermal analysis combined | ISO 10365 for bonded joints |
| How will it be in five years? | Accelerated ageing, then re-testing | ISO 9142 |
Every report states the method and the conditions used. That is what makes a result defensible in front of a customer, an auditor or an insurer.
We publish our turnaround. Nobody else does.
We went through the materials testing laboratories in Spain one by one: not one publishes how long it takes. We do, and we commit to it in writing.
| Service level | Committed turnaround | Surcharge | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 7 working days | — | From receipt of the sample |
| Fast Track | 72 hours | +50 % | Sample received before 12:00 |
| Express | 24 hours | +120 % | Subject to prior confirmation by phone |
If we miss the deadline, we do not invoice the urgency surcharge. Samples are accepted by courier from anywhere in the world, and the clock starts on receipt, not on the order.
What we do not do
Our laboratory is not ENAC accredited. We issue technical reports signed with the method and conditions stated, valid to make decisions, develop products, resolve a failure or support a claim — but they do not replace an accredited certificate where a standard requires one for batch release or CE marking. When that paperwork is needed we arrange it with an accredited laboratory and keep the interpretation and the follow-up.
Send us the sample
Tell us what you need to know and we will tell you which technique answers it — and which one you do not need. You can order a single test with no further commitment.
